Who are Boardstiff?

I never imagined I would end up here! 25 years in the Ambulance Service has left me with memories of good and bad times. I started tinkering in my workshop to escape from the rigours of my day job and look after my own mental health.

I fell head over heels in love with wood and what it could do for me; I found solace in creation of boards of all shapes and sizes, boards for cheese, boards for chopping, boards for charcuterie and boards to quite honestly just look at and enjoy the beauty of the wood.

All timber is sustainably sourced from timber recycling and sawmill offcuts. I have learnt so much by visiting sawmills and talking to real experts. The unpredictability of supplies is a journey in its creative self.

I feel really proud of transforming something destined for the fire or the bin into something beautiful and useful.
